Deep Learning Engineer (f/m/d)

Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. We design, build and operate traffic management systems including connected vehicles technology and mobility demand management as well as tolling services for cities, roads, tunnels and bridges around the world. We develop data and video analytics platforms, building on state-of-the-art technologies including AI, machine learning, big data and cloud services to enable the digitalization of mobility.

Your responsibilities:

* Discovering and developing new and/or innovative technology product ideas, strategic product extensions or enhancements to existing products for the translation of research discoveries into usable and marketable products.
* Identifying, collecting and evaluating new and/or innovative technology products.
* Leading, planning and tracking all phases of the technology product life cycle from inception through introduction into the marketplace.
* Appraising new technology product ideas to determine their potential to address customer needs and to achieve goals in revenue growth and market share.
* Establishing technology product specifications and collaborating with various functions, including engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications, marketing and sales, to ensure successful product development and implementation.
* Solving complex problems; taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
* Working independently; receiving minimal guidance.
* Possibility of leading projects or project steps within a broader project or having accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.
* In-depth knowledge in own area and basic knowledge of related areas.
* Acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Your Profile:

* Masters/PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, software engineering or similar
* Ability to actively drive proof of concepts as well as to transform the same into performance applications and products
* At least 3 years of professional experience in software development
* Profound knowledge of software development with C++ and Python
* Experience with deep learning, computer vision, image processing, machine learning highly beneficial
* Familiar with Linux environments and docker
* Practical knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI / CD)
* Familiar with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
* Proactive mindset to drive collaboration between teams in an intercultural environment cross-organizational environment
* Ability to assist team members to overcome technical problems
* Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
