Senior Design Engineers (m/f/d)

to start as soon as possible.

We are looking for dynamic individuals who can assume a diverse and attractive range of duties and take personal responsibility. If you enjoy working independently as well as managing a team of up to 5 engineers and value an exceptionally friendly and supportive environment, this is exactly the right position for you.

Your future responsibilities:

* You work cross-functionally with teams from Project Management, Engineering and Management to bring the concept designs into life, implementing product design and development tasks.
* Work as a key member in design of custom made lighting fixtures and to provide technical leadership to design and development.
* You will be responsible of the design and construction of bespoke lighting products, range from classic chandeliers to contemporary decorative luminaires and functional lighting solutions such as crystal chandeliers, ceiling fixtures, pendant fixtures, floor lamps, wall fixtures, table lamps or lighting systems. Design and constriction performance requirements have to be balanced with costs, manufacturability and serviceability. Your job embodies specification, design, technical budget analysis, critical component selection, integration, test planning, test execution and trouble-shooting
* You will be working together with a multidisciplinary and international project team, aimed at realizing bespoke lighting products
* Generating drawings in details from basic sketches to fully detailed production drawings
* Specify solutions for project requirements
* Documentation of design development, from early stages of design up to completed products
* Build up and maintain specialist knowledge on mechanics, electronics, lighting theory and system architecture
* The holder of the position reports to the management and is operational together with project managers

Your profile:

* Graduate Technical College (HTL or similar) - Technical University
* Technical degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering, industrial design or similar
* Min. of 4 years senior leadership in Product Design and/or R&D engineering role
* Proficiency in the following fields are highly appreciated: Product Design, Product Development, Product Verification & Validation, Quality Management, Budget planning, Leadership
* Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings and documentation
* 2D & 3D CAD proficiency (Autocad and Solidworks)
* Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic attitude
* Good managing skills as well as a high level of accountability and responsibility
* Good communicational skills
* Business-fluent in English (skills in German, French and Italian are an extra plus)
* Knowledge in electronics is a plus
* Eager to learn continuously
* Flexibility, strong sense of commitment
* Solution oriented and open to team work
* Pragmatic attitude
* Availability to Travel
* Driving License
* EU work-permit in force

For this position, the minimum salary for full-time employment (38.5 hours per week) is EUR 64.650,-/year (Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte des Metallgewerbes VWG V). The company is prepared to pay a higher salary in line with the market and also performance based bonuses, depending on qualifications and previous experience.
