CONTRACTING SPECIALIST (F/M/D)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent serves as one of two Contracting Specialists at post, who negotiates and prepares formal solicitations and contracts for a wide variety of acquisitions for values up to and exceeding the standard $250,000 - contracting warrant limitations. They work directly with Washington Global Acquisition procurement and contracting experts. The incumbent is responsible for all pre-solicitation activities, solicitations, evaluating offers, final negotiations and contract awards. In addition, the incumbent serves as the main contact point for external contractors, suppliers, throughout the entire contract cycle from original solicitation through contract close-out.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES WE SEEK:
We are looking for a pro-active, independent team player, who has excellent professional communications and negotiations skills, as well as knowledge regarding technical contracts and financial, cost, market, and value analysis methodology.
You should bring with you:
- A minimum of 2 years of post-secondary studies at college or university (e.g. equivalent to an associated degree) is required in business, management, logistics, contracts, supply chain management or another business-related field;
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in purchasing/contracting;
- A strong working knowledge of and being able to formulate and apply business management, economics, acquisitions, and negotiation strategies as related to the acquisition of a wide variety of supplies and services;
- An ability to evaluate and source goods and services from the local, regional, or extended international supply chain;
- Fluency in German and English;
- High level competency in MS Office Suite.
