(Senior) Legal Counsel - Competition Law (f/m/d)

How You'll Make Your Mark

Your main tasks in this role are:

* As a part of Group Legal, you advise on competition law-related matters, including related areas such as unfair trading practices, on operational matters, projects as well as strategic considerations
* In this area, you act as legal business partner often alongside other legal teams for different business units, such as international buying and international sustainability, which includes collaboration with the countries of the ALDI SOUTH Group
* You develop a deep understanding of the competitive environment of a global discounter that enables you to provide competition law advice where it matters
* You update policies, guidelines and training concepts, you deliver trainings on competition law and you serve as an interface for the monitoring and control environment by the Compliance department
* As required, you manage the engagement and supervise the work of outside legal counsel
* You act as contact for questions raised around competition law by third parties, including enquiries by regulatory authorities

Candidate Profile

The requirements for the role include:

* You have a proven record of at least 4-6 years competition law experience from working in international law firms, multinational companies and/or competition law agencies
* Excellent legal skills related to (EU) rules on competition law in commercial operations are key, including horizontal and vertical relationships, abuse of dominance matters and related areas such as UTP
* You show experience in business partnering commercial teams and willingness to acquire a deep understanding of ALDI's business operations; retail experience is a plus
* You have a law degree from a university within EU, ideally from Austria or Germany, international experience is a plus
* You have the ability to work and advise in English and German
* You possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* An independent, "hands-on", and proactive work style with a high level of intrinsic motivation is a matter of course for you
* You like to take a strategic perspective to see the bigger picture

Remuneration

Gross annual salary starting from EUR 60.900*
*willingness to overpay with appropriate qualifications
